Ah…slime, it’s either you love it or hate it! lol Which team are you on??? We try to make our slimes a putty consistency which makes for both my kids to enjoy playing with it. My older one, isn’t one for sticky and gooey things but enjoys playing around with this one!
Here’s an easy slime recipe for you to do with your little ones this Halloween or any time of year. This is slightly tweaked from the site www.thebestideasforkids.com.
Ingredients:
- 1 7oz. Bottle of White Glue
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 2 TBSP. of Contact Lens Solution
- 2 TBSP of Water (to make the slime stretchy)
- Optional : food colouring (we mixed it into the glue)
Instructions:
- Get a bowl to mix all ingredients. We used a stainless steel mixing bowl.
- Pour the entire bottle of glue, mix in any colouring you want to use. I added a few drops of yellow and red to make orange as we used this to celebrate Halloween (pumpkin inspired!).
- Add the baking soda, mix. Then add the water (tbsp at a time) slowly and mix well.
- Add the contact lens solution, i added a little bit more than the recipe (maybe a little extra to get the consistency you like). Contact lens solution must contain boric acid for this to work.
- Mix thoroughly until slime forms and begins to pull away from he sides of the bowl. take it out of the bowl and knead. Working with the slime will give you that stretchy fun thing we all want for slime play!
